Our Mission
Our mission is to educate people of all ages about Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias and inspire them to get involved through community events, social advocacy and storytelling.
Our Story
Rock n’ Roll Rick was diagnosed with an aggressive form of early onset dementia (Frontotemporal Dementia) when he was just 51 years old. His two daughters, Alissa and Stephanie, who were teenagers at the time, have always been very close to their dad and the time they spend together has always held a very special, yet emotional place in their hearts.
Rick has always been extremely generous and instilled the importance of giving back in his daughters from a young age. In 2015, when Alissa’s birthday fell on the same day as Father’s Day, she decided to host a pub crawl to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Awareness to honor her dad’s legacy. As she put together the initial ALE for ALZ event, she was shocked to discover how common stories like hers were and yet how low the awareness was of the disease.
With the help of some amazing friends and family, what started as a small celebration has evolved into an official non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Interested in helping the cause? Click here to contribute.
